Arconic Electrician - Journey-Level in Davenport, Iowa

Arconic is offering a $2000 Signing Bonus and $800 Tool Allowance! The probationary base pay for this position is $30.248/hour with a Journey-level base rate of $31.605 and the up-skill potential of $4.00 per hour added on to the base rate. Arconic also offers shift and schedule premiums.

Electricians must be able to work an alternate work schedule and work overtime outside of their normal schedule to meet business needs.

Duties and Working Procedures:

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain equipment such as electrical/electronic/mill equipment and pneumatic equipment systems, communication systems, and plant utility systems following documented procedures when needed.

  • Dismantle, move, fabricate, re-design (with proper authorization), assemble, and install: electrical/electronic mill equipment, controls, and components.

Primary Function of the Job:

  • Inspect, fabricate, install, repair, modify, calibrate, adjust, test, perform preventative maintenance and service mill equipment, high voltage power distribution, electrical, electronics (including computers and micro processor based controllers), communications, recording/control, combustion equipment, refrigeration/air conditioning equipment systems and related mechanical equipment.

Materials used, Processed and Handled:

  • Wire, cable, conduit, fittings and fasteners, insulation, electric control components, motors; soldering, welding and brazing materials and gas supplies; paint, solvents and cleaning materials, lubricants, ink; natural and refrigeration gases, mercury, chlorine; acids, abrasion materials, electrical/electronic computer equipment and parts.

Tools and Equipment Used:

  • Hand tools, high voltage equipment, welding, soldering, brazing, burning and cutting equipment; drill presses, saws, sanders, threading machine, crimping equipment, pipe benders, cleaning and grinding equipment; electrical, mechanical and predictive maintenance test equipment; cranes, hoists, industrial trucks, aerial personnel lift equipment, ladders and scaffolding; temperature, pressure and weight measuring devices; oscillscopes, portable generators gas analyzers, programmable logic controller, computers, electrical measuring devices, power distribution analyzers, strip charge recorders; special recording and digital test equipment.

Applicants must be able to pass the Journey Level Test and perform the essential functions of a Journey Level Electrician.

  • High School Diploma or GED, and a Certified Apprenticeship or 5 years of equivalent experience

  • Applicants must be able to pass the Journey Level Test and perform the essential functions of a Journey Level Electrician.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
