This full-time position is located in (Council Bluffs, IA); however please expect receiving calls from a 952 number in case you are considered. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager (depending on type of facility), this position is the primary weigher and grader that is responsible for checking trucks into the scale ticket system at a location. This position is responsible for entering all truck unload customer check-in information into the scale ticket system. This position may also be responsible for the capture of house weights and grades for the same unloads as well as determining bin designations in the scale ticket system, as well as any other duties assigned by the position’s supervisor. This position performs these tasks on a daily basis to ensure that Cargill standards, productivity metrics, and customers service needs are met.

Principal Accountabilities

70%Focus on accurate and consistent Weighing and Grading of trucks and railcars, and accurately inputting customer information.

  • Follows Operational Policies and procedures to weigh and grade trucks or rail cars accurately and per Cargill’s guideline.

  • Ensures weighing and grading office, probe area, and scales are clean and safe for customers and employees.

  • Consistently meets all rail and truck loading requirements, to ensure not overloaded.

  • Assists the Plant Management in managing the location grain inventory by following existing controls to minimize inventory losses.

  • Communicates new customer information such as new business accounts, changes in customer preferences and new carriers, for prompt and accurate account set-up.

  • Responsible for correcting scale ticket errors on a timely basis.

  • Responsible for maintaining and managing the manual scale ticket log, scale cross checks of all plant scales, moisture tester cross checks of all plant moisture meters.

  • Greets and communicates with customers in a courteous, helpful, and efficient manner.

  • Engaged with a team to operate the Plant equipment from the scale office as directed by plant management.

  • Successfully engaged to participate in training sessions for State/Provincial/Federal regulatory and Cargill compliance programs.

  • Participates in all location inventory audits, since portions of this are their responsibility

  • Participates in training to acquire and maintain knowledge on operating Plant equipment safely and effectively.

  • Participates in team safety meetings to review procedures, housekeeping, and safety awareness issues

  • Related secondary education or training

  • Knowledge of inventory control, quality management, operating efficiency and budget management

  • Specialized knowledge of grain handling

  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, and shoveling
