Danaher Corporation Facilities Technician in Coralville, Iowa
Reports to: Manager of Facilities Maintenance
Employment Status: Non-Exempt
Shift: Monday- Friday; 8:00A-5:00P
The Facilities Technician supports the daily operations of IDT by maintaining water softeners installing and/or removing lab or office furniture, and coordinating and assisting fellow employees with internal lab/office relocations.
Coordinates and assists with departmental and employee internal office/lab relocations.
Dismantles and installs furniture
Performs immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain clean facility
Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager
Transports goods or equipment as assigned
Stocks and fills all water conditioning equipment (i.e. water softener)
Performs snow removal and grounds maintenance
Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours and on-call hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand.
Routine maintenance on refrigerators and freezers in a lab setting coordinating with the owner and other affected groups
Requisitions and/or purchases supplies, materials, tools, machine parts, and other necessary equipment.
Utilizes the CMMS to record work done by entering work orders
Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values.
Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver’s license required.
- Minimum of two years in a facilities related field required

Excellent verbal communication skills
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building maintenance trades.
Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals used in the facility.
Ability to do routine mechanical or electrical maintenance and care for tools and equipment.
Ability to work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
Ability to maintain records in a CMMS program, regarding material, equipment, and repairs.
Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
Ability to maintain both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers.
Adaptability to situations requiring the precise attainment of set limits, tolerances or standards.
Exert 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25-50 lbs. of force frequently
