In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks associated with general plant operations and field activities that will evolve with each season throughout the year. You will be responsible for setting up and monitoring highly automated equipment for various processes such as harvest, conditioning, treating, and packing.

During peak season (September-April) the Cherokee production plant runs a 24/6 or 24/7 schedule based on demand. Shift hours can be 8 to 12 hours depending on which schedule is utilized.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Harvest activities such as preparation,receiving, pre-cleaning etc.

  • Conditioning activities such as gravityoperation, bagging, palletizing, etc.

  • Return and reworkactivities

  • Field management activities such asscouting, field maintenance

  • Warehousing activities including forkliftoperation, collecting samples, pooling, etc.

  • Gathering data for future aid incontinuous improvement projects

  • Various other duties as assigned bysupervisor


The following arerequired:

  • High Schooldiploma/GED

  • Updated resume attached to application online

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license andmay be required to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in thefuture

  • Willing and able to work in a variety ofareas (field, plant, warehouse)

  • Willing and able to climb and/or work inelevated areas; standing and sitting for extendedperiods

  • Willing and able to work both outdoors andindoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions

  • Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. andcomplete work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting with orwithout reasonable accommodation.

  • Willingness and ability to work overtimehours including weekend work required during seasonalpeaks

The following arepreferred:

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principlessuch as 5S, Continuous Improvement and Standardized Work are aplus

  • Minimum of one year of on-the-job experience in manufacturing, production, operations, agriculture or related filed OR an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study

  • Knowledge of production agriculture andproduction plant operations desired

  • Knowledge of field equipmentdesired

  • Computer systems and tools knowledge

  • Good verbal and interpersonalcommunication skills

  • Teamwork skills
