Cambrex Charles City, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to work at our manufacturing plant in Charles City, Iowa who shares the values and principles that characterize who we are and how we work. It's time to join our world-class team.

Job DescriptionReporting to the Assistant Production Superintendent, the Production Supervisor will be expected to supervise operating personnel for efficient, safe and profitable. The incumbent will be responsible for administration of day to day manpower, equipment and processing needs of the area. The Production Supervisor will work closely with all departments to ensure timely shipment of quality products, meetings or exceeding customer expectations.

Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily supervision of site production personnel.

  • Participate in the production planning process and ensure coordination on materials and arrangement of appropriate resources to support the production plan.

  • Review and approve issued and executed batch records and insure cGMP is maintained in production operations.

  • Perform process investigations, document process deviations, initiate CAPAs and minor equipment change controls.

  • Write batch record supplements and perform minor batch record revisions.

  • Generate maintenance work requests and participate in the scheduling of maintenance work.

  • Issue safe work permits required for areas of responsibility.

  • Control site security, investigate security breaches and participate in actions to maintain a secure site.

  • Lead the emergency response effort until relieved by a more senior manager.

  • Administer and perform training for production employees, and qualify these employees for their job functions.

  • Conduct employee performance evaluations.

  • Provide coaching to employees to enhance performance.

  • Ensure a safe workplace is maintained.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies (OSHA, DEA, EPA, DNR, and FDA).

  • Provide additional production support and assistance to process engineers and production operators during new product campaigns.

  • Perform laboratory tests on samples of in-process and waste materials.

  • Monitor the generation, identification, and packaging of solid waste for disposal.

  • Check raw material and in-process inventories.

Job Qualifications

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or similar technical field is preferred

  • Experience with HIPO handling is beneficial

  • API or cGMP manufacturing experience required

  • Prior supervisory experience beneficial

  • Sound written and oral communication skills

  • Strong computer knowledge in Windows based software required

  • DEA background check required

  • Respirator use required
