Job Summary

Job Responsibilities


  • Maintain the backlog of work during the execution of a PI. By engaging product owners, platform architects and customers (both app developer and external) in periodic backlog refinement and other design discussions

  • Prior to the next PI planning event, a draft backlog should be prepared and reviewed with the platform architect and other platform product leads

  • Facilitates the review of the project’s work in progress at stand-ups. Removes any roadblocks for the members of their team and runs to ground process and material needs.

  • Becomes competent with most tools/resources used by team. So as the lead, they can provide support to unblock engineers by pointing them at another engineer/mentor, ALM instructions or a previous project example/instructions.

  • Identifies special work that can be handed off to offshore, needs a specific knowledge base, or can be used for development of engineers needing practical experience.

  • Provides feedback to platform architect and personnel manager on successes/failures of those assigned to the project. With the goal that we want to grow people’s interests/talents as much as focus on their strengths to meet commitments.


  • Time must be set aside to provide feedback on others work. If others are working tasks under direction from the lead, the lead provides the “leader” role defined in our SDP.

  • Engaged in review of other disciplines work to derive additional tasks and touch points in the platform work backlog

  • Actively identify platform risks across any of the projects and notify/take corrective action

  • Attends the CCB and status meetings to tie-off commitments

  • When new scope is identified, they force the necessary project discussion

  • Leads project related bids and reviews direction with all applicable platform product leads

  • Accurately statuses the current staffing profile to the best of their ability and tracks against allocated hrs (if applicable)


  • Helps identify team roadmap and areas to try and focus funding/effort towards

  • Constantly learning, proposing ideas and challenging the status quo

  • Identifies reuse and strategic capabilities that should be propagated to other projects. They actively take a roll looking for these opportunities during stand-up discussions and reviews


  • Becomes an expert in a team focus area or roadmap initiative

  • Never hesitates to jump in and help another project/engineer when they’re stuck

  • Challenges situations but always proposes possible solutions

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

  • Must have experience with C, driver development, and Linux

  • Experience with Agile

  • Must have project leadership experience
