Job Summary

The Test Engineering & Services Center of Excellence is seeking to fill a Test Engineering position with a talented Engineering Technician in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position will support Test Solution development and sustainment for use in our production facilities and service centers.

Job Responsibilities

The candidate must be able to assist the test engineering design effort in the following areas: test station assembly, test development, troubleshooting, repair and modification for both new and existing test equipment. Applies software development techniques while utilizing electronic and mechanical theory to configure, model, test, troubleshoot, determine solutions and modify test stations. Performs independently on routine engineering technician assignments and work with concurrent engineering team on new product test solution development efforts.

Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Assemble and integrate Interface Test Adapters (ITA) of moderate to high complexity for RF products

  • Assemble multi-bay Automated test racks

  • Troubleshoot test stations and ITAs

  • Help with drawing red marks

  • Provide input to test procedures

Basic Qualifications

US Citizenship is required. Candidate should have the ability to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance.

Associates degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of an associate's degree three years of related experience.

Desired skills:

  • Can assemble, troubleshoot, and repair moderate to complex electrical circuits

  • Has knowledge in the functionality of COTs equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMM's, logic analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads and optical measurement systems)

  • Development and support of design documentation (test procedures, test flows, capacity analysis, equipment specifications, etc.) by review product designs and create test solutions that maximize test coverage in the manufacturing and service environments

  • Thorough understanding of RC processes/tools (documentation (PDM/Eng central), SCL, IMPACT, SAP)

  • Experience interacting with customers

  • Ability to reverse engineer existing equipment (i.e. documenting something that is already built)

  • Excellent time management skills - ability to unsupervised, multitask and delegate work to support technicians, EPA's and peers.

  • Highly motivated and possess effective oral/written communication and interpersonal/team skills
