The UTC Re-Empower Program is a return to work program that helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, improve leadership skills, and continue their professional journey. The program consists of a 16-week comprehensive cohort assignment, which offers a rich and rewarding experience and mentorship for program participants transitioning back into the workforce after a 2+ year career break, for reasons such as childcare, eldercare, career path change, illness, retirement or other personal matters. Selected experienced professionals will gain paid, on-the-job experience, have an opportunity to participate in sessions with leadership, develop personalized plans for success and receive mentoring to guide their return to work experience. Upon completion of the 16-week program, based on performance,
Re-Empower participants may have an opportunity to convert to a full-time role.
The Fall 2019 Cohort of the UTC Re-Empower Program will run from September 4 – December 20, 2019.
To qualify for the UTC Re-Empower Program, candidates must meet both program and position requirements.
Currently be on a break of at least two years or more OR be a transitioning member of the U.S. Military
Have a minimum of five years of professional work experience
Have an interest in returning to work in a full-time position
Have an ability to attend the Re-Empower Program Orientation at UTC Headquarters in Farmington, CT on September 4 - 6, 2019.

The Digital Technology Program Management Office is currently searching for a Senior IT Project Manager to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Sr IT Project Manager will have responsibilities for planning and executing Collins Aerospace Digital Technology projects that contribute to the achievement of our company’s strategic roadmap.
The ideal candidate will effectively lead the planning and implementation of projects to enable the organization to succeed and meet strategic deliverables.
This position focuses on managing multiple Digital Technology projects, which may include implementation of third party solutions, application development and infrastructure optimization solutions.
Communicate and manage project vision with project leadership team to ensure an understanding of the project plan and scope in conjunction with company’s commitments and customer expectations.
Define deliverables, scope of work and develop detailed schedule for projects to ensure value is provided to the customer/requestor and business objective and goals are met.
Build highly effective project teams, and establish effective relationships with impacted departments and functional areas.
Communicate expectations and instill accountability in team members.
Resolve conflicts, promote work sharing, and motivate teams toward common goals.
Apply project management principles including project financial management, scope and schedule management, risk and opportunity management, critical problem solving, variance and root cause analysis techniques to ensure on time delivery of product capabilities that meet customer requirements.
Make timely and sound business decisions that support the business objectives of Collins Aerospace.
Summarize and present key information to Senior Leadership enabling them to make decisions.
Manage multiple projects, tasks, and resources through effective organization, prioritization, and time management practices to meet operational objectives.
Participate in continuous process improvement and lean initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree, a minimum of six years of related experience.
Experience with project oversight of software development initiatives.
Experience building and managing schedules in MS Project.
Experience using MS Office tools.
Experience with SAP.
Ability to travel up to 20-30% of time.
Senior/Executive leadership presence.
Ability to drive project forward after receiving initial direction.
Preferred experience (not required):
Experience working in a government and/or manufacturing environment.
Experience managing projects in the following areas
IT cyber security
Experience with multiple project methodologies including agile Scrum methodology.
Experience leading ERP alignment activities.
Experience leading ERP data migration activities
Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.
