Job Description Summary
Systems/Software Engineering Co-op in our Military Avionics and Helicopters Flight Management Applications department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Collins Aerospace is currently seeking qualified candidates for student employees in our Military Avionics and Helicopters Flight Management Applications department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Our flight manager applications provide global airspace access and mission planning capabilities for a variety of military and civilian aircraft. This is done by providing flight planning, guidance and navigation capabilities to the pilots, giving them unprecedented ability to execute their missions throughout the world and under every situation!
The selected candidate will join our teams that are comprised of cross-functional engineers, mostly systems and software, working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people). Team culture is extremely collaborative and engaged; we value our customers, our products, and our people. You will have the opportunity to develop real code used in real aircraft! This position involves development and integration of embedded Flight Management System (FMS) software for military and civilian avionics systems. Specific software functional areas include flight planning, guidance, user interface, sensor control and mission planning. The selected candidate will perform software development tasks including design, requirements analysis and capture, code, test and software integration. Ideal candidates should have good communication skills, the ability to learn new concepts quickly and effectively, and possess good interpersonal and team skills.
Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline
Classroom experience with Ada, C, C++, Python or other high-order language.
US Citizenship or Green Card Holder
