Position overview:

Looking for an opportunity that will help to maximize your co-op experience? Collins Aerospace is looking for a Summer/Fall Software Engineering Co-op to join our team of Software Engineers in the development of the Displays Software for use by pilots and maintenance personnel on the flight decks of large commercial aircraft.

As a co-op with this group, you will be developing and verifying software that will be used on the displays of the flight deck (cockpit). The position will work closely with the rest of the engineering team to define requirements, design, develop code, and integrate and verify the functionality of the software in the lab. This software is developed to the highest criticality level, so attention to detail is a must for this position. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree related to Software Engineering or Computer Science. Join our team and develop your engineering skills while contributing to a real-world project.

Primary Responsibilities :

Knowledge of software engineering processes and methodologies

Ability to follow the project's defined software process for development, verification and configuration management

Ability to collaborate with engineers and generate a positive team working environment

Willingness to learn and be flexible

Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills for purposes of developing requirements and design documentation and proposing well thought out solutions to technical problems

Ability to quickly acquire technical domain knowledge and contribute to the design of sophisticated architectural systems

Experience with the C programming language is a plus

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

US Citizenship required.
