Job Summary

Applies a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the construction, analysis, or management of software. Uses independent judgment to make decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities the majority of the time under general supervision.

Job Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge: Product domain, Requirements, Design, Development, Test and Release software processes, tools, methods and coding best practices with primary emphasis on software design and development.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to incorporate the appropriate RC processes and tools into product development, resulting in increased product quality and improving customer satisfaction.

  • Design, code, integrate, regression test, test and document software in areas such as: software problem reports, change requests, software components, and software test scripts.

  • Perform software debugging using appropriate techniques and tools.

  • Performs in cross-functional team efforts in integration, verification and validation for products and sub-systems.

  • Provides engineering estimates for own work on tasks similar to those previously performed.

  • Contribute to software engineering requirements capture, analysis and creation for well-defined software designs.

  • Individual job duties may vary.

REQUIRED

Knowledge of Ada, C++, DO-178 High/Low Level Requirement and Test development practices, RCI Test Automation development practices and python, or the ability to pick up these skills quickly, is essential. Familiarity with DOORs, Eclipse tools and Plug-ins is desired.

Technical responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

-collaboration on software requirements and design

-implementing software, software requirements, test and design artifacts

-unit testing and software integration based on defined requirements and detailed design

The engineer should have an awareness of the entire engineering process and should be knowledgeable and skilled with a variety of development and test tools.

Candidates will be expected to independently perform multiple tasks given some support from a mentor.

Candidates are expected to be adaptable to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions, enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
