Collins Aerospace is currently seeking qualified candidates for entry-level SW engineering interns to participate in the Summer Engineering Projects Program in our Military Avionics & Helicopters Flight Management Applications department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Teams are comprised of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software-only products. The SEPP project for 2021 will involve collaborating with Collins Technical Fellows and the Avoidance Re-Router development team to develop a prototype that will utilize help allow ARR to operate in an autonomous environment. At the end of the session, participants will have an opportunity to present their solution to Engineering Leadership and Business Development representatives:

FACE (Future Airborne Capability Environment) - Our software as a product used to support not only navigation, flight planning, and guidance with our MFMS-1000 solution, but also hazard avoidance in real time as part of our Avoidance Re-Router (ARR-7000), which are being deployed on a variety of emerging platforms and next generation pursuits. Job Responsibilities

Student employees are expected to be able to adapt to change, learn independently, ask questions, collaborate with teammates to make the best decisions, and be self motivated to contribute in a work environment positively. Interest in, and experience with autonomy and autonomous systems is preferred for this role.

Basic Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.

Working knowledge of C++ and Python
