Role Overview

Collins Aerospace is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Principal Engineer on the Disciplines & Knowledge Transfer (DKT) team. This organization operates at the Enterprise level and strives to advance methods that improve effectiveness within the Collins Strategic Business Units through innovative solutions, knowledge management, and the relentless pursuit of execution excellence. DKT is responsible for developing and leading execution of Collins-wide initiatives to improve the speed, effectivity, and quality of product development and support within the business units.

Primary Responsibilities:

Ability to define and hold teams accountable to an execution timeline and budget for approved development projects

Working closely with peers to accomplish common objectives

Communicating effectively to the organization to ensure proper change management is achieved as we drive positive change into the organization

Leading the execution, analysis, and continuous improvement of our overall technical health across Collins Aerospace

Partnering with technical leaders to charter teams that develop curriculum and technical guidance for our Collins engineering community to leverage


Basic Qualifications:

The position requires a BS degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

10 or more years of experience working with engineering leaders

Experience utilizing multiple development methods and processes

Understanding of a variety of our internal and external customers and how they interface into our businesses and systems as it relates to the engineering function

Experience leading cross-functional teams, ideally including enterprise level committees

Ability to collaborate and drive decisions with large groups

Ability to develop strategies and communicate those to various levels of leadership, including senior executive leadership

Willingness to travel up to 25%, potentially internationally
