Industrial Maintenance Machinist

  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Reads and interprets blueprints.

  • Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.

  • Uses precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as: lathe, vertical milling machine, horizontal milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, band saw, broaches, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.

  • Fabricates and shapes parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal, plastics, and composites.

  • Properly aligns, secures, and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.

  • Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling.

  • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.

  • Evaluates experimental procedures and recommends changes or modifications.

  • Ability to set up both very small and very large parts.

  • Ability to track parts and jobs using computer software.

  • Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.

  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.

  • Identifies and troubleshoots problems.

  • Completed work should be neat in appearance and operate properly.

  • This is a twelve hour night shift position. Starting wage $29.46 - $31.61 per hour with a $.70 shift differential.

    Job Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Trade school experience and/or a minimum of two years industrial maintenance experience in specific discipline.

  • Selected candidates must pass the appropriate written skill level test as a condition for employment, along with pre-employment screening.

  • Ability to perform basic math computations such as calculating speeds and feeds, solving bolt circle calculations, and all trigonometry functions.

  • Ability to understand and apply basic operating principles and techniques to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.

  • Ability to work with diagrams and/or schematics.

  • Use of trade tools and knowledge of industry standards a must.

  • Ability to move or transfer products using an overhead crane or forklift.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds when required.

  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
