Work from prepared schedules and directions. Assist implementing assigned programs including Safety, Quality, Reliability and Continuous Improvement. Responsible for shift performance on Employee and Food Safety, Quality, Attainment, Yield and Labor Utilization. Independent judgment and discretion required. Principle duties and responsibilities Ensure the Safety of our Employees and Products through formal and informal processesSupport direct operations by ensuring adherence to key initiatives such as First Hour of Power, Performance Board trending, Autonomous Maintenance, Process Improvement Teams, Rapid Changeover and Master Sanitation SchedulesResponsible for resolving and/or escalating the need for corrective actions when performance gaps are identifiedAssist Production Supervisors in performing Root Cause Analysis using tools such as PDCA Ensure the effective training of employees and help evaluate employee performance opportunitiesAct as the frontline resource to ensure manufacturing team members have all the required resources to Win the Shift such as PPE, GMP tools, operational supplies and packaging materialEnsure incoming shifts are set up for success by confirming staffing and material availabilityRecommend equipment improvements and new operational methods to improve Safety, Quality and CostPerform routine audits related to Safety, Quality and Inventory ManagementAssist in developing a daily/weekly staffing scheduleAssign team members to tasks as scheduled and as required Direct line personnel on standard operating proceduresResponsible for managing leave of absence requestsResponsible for scheduling overtime vacancies and maintaining posted schedulesAssist Production Supervisor in submitting repair work ordersAssist in the preparation of accurate performance reports Act as a back-up to the Production Supervisor in their absenceWORKING RELATIONSHIPS (State types of contacts required, both inside and outside the company. Describe type of supervision given and received.)INTERNAL: Reports directly to Production Manager and indirectly to Production Supervisor EXTERNAL: May work with 3rd party contractors and suppliers.Supervises: 30-50 employees based on shift and business need.QUALIFICATIONS Preferred:Education: College Graduate-Business or Administration Field.Experience: 1-3 years' experience in the milling/packaging industry.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS TO CONSIDER:Excellent communication and supervisory skills. Knowledge of grain and oat milling. Computer literate.
