DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Summary:

Operate manual and automatic MIG/TIG welding stations at a standardized production rate along with performing forklift, SPC, bending, and machine operations functions. Support production operations by contributing suggestions for process and efficiency improvements. Wage Rates ($17.00-20.12).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Set up and operate automatic (Melton) welders.

Assemble and load exhaust components in automatic welding stations.

Manually MIG/TIG weld exhaust components as required.

Operate various bending tube machines.

Load and unload materials onto or from containers or racks by hand.

Attach identifying tags and labels on racks, pallets or other containers.

Operate a forklift to assist in loading or moving materials and products.

Operate a tugger to move materials within the warehouse.

Collect and record SPC (Statistical Process Control) data as required.

Actively participate in team meetings.

Operate bar code scanning equipment (scanners, printers).

Perform shipping and receiving functions, including paperwork.

Perform job duties in line with company policies, procedures, and standard work instructions pertaining to ISO 14001, TPS, TS16949, and Safety requirements.

Perform job functions in compliance with relevant environmental & safety regulations.

Perform preventative maintenance.

Maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or General Education Development certificate. Minimum of three months related experience as a MIG/TIG welder or certification from an accredited institution for MIG/TIG welding and pass a welding test.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write basic correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, auditors, and fellow employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units or measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages and to draw, and interpret graphs.

Specialized Training and Skills

Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, visual or diagram form.

Preferred Skills/Knowledge

Work experience in the automotive parts industry. Ability to troubleshoot, make minor adjustments, and/or perform preventative maintenance on metal bending, welding, forming, fabrication, and assembly equipment. Experience with SAP.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk, stoop and bend; use hands to handle, touch or feel; reach with hands and arms: twist; sit; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception. Administrative work approximately 10% of the day. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or air borne particles, heat or cool climate conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
