Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: The Sanitation Supervisor helps lead the food safety and quality programs and human safety programs within the plant, ensuring all the programs are adequate and followed completely in order to provide safe products, free of contamination, to all of our customers and help our employees stay free from accidents. The supervisor helps their department focus on the company initiatives and goals. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads breaker sanitation operations by overseeing the Sanitation department personnel including work scheduling, hiring employees, terminating employees and performing annual evaluations. Maintain department budget by tracking supplies and labor hours against plan. Ensure that employees are properly trained in chemical handling & titration verification and that they have all needed tools & equipment to perform their jobs. Ensure that employees are following ll required safety processes during cleanup such as LOTO. Monitor and report on KPIs such as pre-operational inspection findings. Assist in maintaining SQF certification and continued plant improvement through program verification activities. Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products. Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. In absence, job responsibilities will be covered by the FSQ Manager and/or Production Supervisor. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with Production, Maintenance, HR & Safety. Enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner. Participates in regulatory, customer and internal audits. Perform weekly chemical inventory and order. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Safety, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. Active participation in the Company’s safety program know as SRMP. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in quality, production or sanitation functions. Supervisor experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, SOP’s and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Coordinate and supervisor all department functions. Able to supervise department personnel in a fair and consistent manner. Be able to recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and team skills. Able to develop and motivate salaried and hourly personnel. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of quality systems and pre-requisite programs. Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Demonstrate skill in leading, coaching, and supervising employees. Communication and interpersonal skills Ability to perform basic computer functions including spreadsheets, word processing, and e-mail. Ability to actively participate in and lead teams. Ability to write standard operating procedures and reports. Demonstrate organizational and time management skills. Must be able to work weekends and overtime as required.
