Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking a Sprayer Test Engineer to work onsite at John Deere’s facility in Ankeny, IA. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Help refine and improve V2Net test procedures for sprayer components or system design activities in conjunction with design engineers and performance engineers.

  • Design and develop test fixtures and procedures as needed working in collaboration with design engineers and test mechanics.

  • Execute these test activities and work proactively around obstacles which are preventing progress.

  • Keep management informed of test status and be transparent about major issues that surface.

  • Compile data into a form that can be easily interpreted and is meaningful.

  • Use Ncode ICE-Flow (Glyphworks), TCE, InField and Excel to accomplish data manipulation.

  • Document test conditions, machine configurations and instrumentation setup so that tests are repeatable and external factors can be considered during data reviews.

  • Reference related part numbers, NCCA and EETS issues in the test report.

  • Create standardized test procedures and edit them as necessary when new technology and improved methods are developed.

  • Schedule and lead test reviews to share results with product engineering and management.

  • Provide formal, thorough reports summarizing test results and conclusions.

  • During data review meetings, offer insight and recommendations to help solve identified problems.

Requirements:

  • VS in Mechanical, Agricultural or Electrical Engineering.

  • PV&V experience either through work experience or internships.

  • Good understanding of Excel and other software tools to analyze and manipulate data.

  • Must have strong technical writing/communication skills in order to effectively summarize information within reports and create/edit standardized testing procedures.

  • Travel up to 15%, primarily to Texas and California.

  • Familiarity with Creo is recommended in order independently design fixtures for lab testing purposes.

  • Experience with simple PLC programming, test automation and controllers like Rasberry Pi’s, Arduinos, Velocios, Impellors or Picocontrollers, etc.

This position is located in Ankeny, IA. Candidates must be able to relocate to this location at their own expense.
