Ready to be part of something special?Join our Family!Essential Duties:- Performs physical and sensory testing on WIP materials. Investigate and resolve non-conforming material.- Evaluates results and independently ensures accuracy before alerting supervisory or production personnel.- Submits samples to various laboratories for chemical and microbiological testing (internal and external).- Audits documentation of Packaging runs on Finished products. Works with production on solution to problems, including audit of quality performance by operators.- Performs environmental and product contact microbiological and allergen swabbing and submits these to various laboratories for testing (internal and external).- Conducts Food Safety and Food Safety Program reviews, communicates to manufacturing when process exceeds critical limits.- Participates in Quality Inspections as requested.- Enforce GMPs.- Supports SQF program as requested, and verifies and validates SOPs.- Issues Quality Holds and hangs Quality Hold Tags, documents (i.e. qnote) and communicates appropriately. Works with Production on non-conformance follow up.- Reviews labels to ensure compliance of regulatory parameters to a standard.- Determines if material can be extended for use, and if approved performs extensions.- Samples materials as requested using aseptic technique.- Inspects product when needed to review product quality.- Responsible for reporting any and all food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Quality Technicians cross train and cover for each others absences.- Coordinates retain programs for material samples, release paperwork, labels, and other documents relating to job.Working Conditions and Physical Demands: Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to taste or smell, talk, hear, and use fingers,hands and arms. There will also be occasional standing, walking, and sitting.There is frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. The employee will frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts.Sensory: Specific vision requirements are close and color vision.The noise level for this position is usually moderate.Mental: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
