Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Facilities Planning and Management at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for a Supervisor-Plant Services. This position schedules work and supervises repairs of power plant and remote facilities’ mechanical equipment. Maintains records of equipment, parts and supplies. The Supervisor- Plant Services is a front-line supervisory position for all power plant mechanical maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications

  1. Four years experience excluding apprenticeship in the applicable craft, trade or plant Services supervised; or the equivalent combination of directly related education and experience. 2. Must possess and maintain a current valid drivers license.

Special Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

1.Possession of a state sponsored stationary engineer license similar to the State of Minnesota Second Class Engineer or ability to become licensed within 6 months.

2.Certification to the American Welding Society Standard AWS D1.1 to perform structural welding

3.Certification to the ASME B31.1 standards for welding utility plant piping systems.

4.Hold a certification in a predictive maintenance category.
