Job Description:

Printing Services at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for a Print Production Supervisor. The Print Production Supervisor is responsible for the print-production operations and staff management of Printing Services. Printing Services provides various printing services (offset and digital press, finishing and bindery, mailing, wide-format-print, pre-press/graphics, etc.) to the Iowa State community at a competitive price, a prompt turnaround time, and at top quality. Printing Services currently has 2 locations on the Iowa State University campus; the central location at the Printing & Publications Building and a quick-print service at the Student Innovation Center.

The successful candidate will have exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate will have the ability to analyze problems and apply strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills.

Example of Duties

  • Directs and manages staff and all daily print-production operations.

  • Assists with department strategic-planning, including product rate/price-development, preparing budgets and reports, projections and recommendations for the department.

  • Maintains quality standards related to product output and materials/supplies.

  • Manages equipment service and maintenance, as well as recommending equipment purchases.

  • Serves as liaison between staff, departments served, external agencies and University leadership.

  • Interprets and/or recommends changes to rules, regulations, policies, and procedures set forth by Iowa State University, the AFSCME Collective Bargaining agreement and the Iowa Board of Regents.
