GREATER IOWA CREDIT UNION IT Support Specialist in Ames, Iowa

Greater Iowa Credit Union is currently seeking a IT Support Specialist that provides hardware and software support, training and troubleshooting related to computer and technical systems throughout the Credit Union. This position responds to user help-desk requests for service and determines the nature and extent of support needed. The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the setup, configuration and maintenance of PC's, tablets, and other handheld devices. This position also works alongside the IT team to provide weekend and after-hours support when required.Location:1509 Baltimore Drive, Ames, IA 50010Hours:Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm, with rotating on call Saturday's and month in processesEssential Functions and Responsibilities:Support end-users with IT related issues in a responsive and service oriented manner. This includes assistance with credit union computer and telephone systems and PC's.Responsible for the maintenance of computer equipment, hardware, and software to include but not limited to printers, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), desktops, terminals, and laptops ranging in different specs and operating systems. Assist with troubleshooting and consult with others in IT department or third party vendor as needed to ensure resolution.Submit daily operation files to the correct party in a timely manner.Support branches in hardware and software issues that arise; including travel onsite for support and assistance.Assist with IT projects, including but not limited to software installation, form design and implementation of systems as directed. Manage time and projects effectively.Monitor backup tapes off site for security and ensure successful completion.Manage printers, scanners, printing supplies, print server, and multi-function printer configuration to ensure effective network based print and scanning services.Perform required monthly software updates and maintenance.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge and Skills:Experience: Six months or more experience providing IT services to end-users and/or 1) A two year college degree or 2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or 3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.Education: (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.Interpersonal Skills:Excellent interpersonal skills.High level of self-motivation.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.Keen attention to detail.Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Exceptional employee service orientation.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities.Other Skills:1. Experience in PC usage and hardware/software support.2. Ability to diagnose and solve hardware and software issues for desktops, servers, and networks.3. Strong multitasking and prioritizing skills.Physical Requirements:While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and manipulate (life, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information.
