Work Hours are a two week rotating schedule as follows: Week 1: Sunday 6:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday OFF, Tuesday – Friday 5 am – 2 pm, Saturday OFF; Week 2: Sunday OFF, Monday – Wednesday 5 am – 2 pm, Thursday OFF, Friday 5 am – 2 pm, Saturday 6:30 am – 3:30 pm

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

Iowa State University is seeking qualified applicants to serve as a Food Services Supervisor at Seasons Marketplace. This position participates in and supervises food ordering, production, service, sanitation, housekeeping and facilities maintenance. Participates in and assists with management of full-time and part-time employees, and student personnel activities and needs.

The duties of this position require a good understanding of inventory controls; the ability to use a computerized food production system; and knowledge of quality products, large quantity production, and institutional cooking equipment. The successful candidate will possess the ability to assist in development and coordination of recipes and menus; to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers; and to lift at least 50 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  1. High school graduation or equivalent and two years of directly related food distribution experience; or 2. Any equivalent combination of post high school education and experience providing a knowledge or background in institutional food services distribution.

Special Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Supervisory experience in food service.

Food service experience in large volume college, restaurant, or similar setting.

Experience ordering and conducting inventory of food and food products.

Cash handling experience.

Additional Information

This is a non-organized position. It is excluded from coverage of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement. Work hours can include overtime on occasion which includes afternoon or evening hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
