ADC Technician Job ID: 14373 Job location(s): Ames, IA, US Job Description The Americas Application Development Center (ADC) at Danfoss Ames, Iowa facility is seeking ADC Technician. The ADC is a facility for investigating, testing, and demonstrating transmission and control system solutions on mobile machinery. It includes a workshop and 20 acre test track. Current test vehicles include agricultural, construction, road building, and turf care machinery.Those seeking to work hands-on with the latest transmission and control technologies; be in a focused, professional, safe, and innovative environment; and enjoy working in a flexible team environment are encouraged to apply.Job Responsibilities Continuously strive to work in a safe manner. Provide recommendations related to work standards and safety. Execute conversion of mechanical/hydraulic/electric components and systems on vehicles to meet project objectives.Support colleagues in selecting and preparing instrumentation and equipment for tests at the ADC and in the field. Maintain facilities, tools, and consumable supplies related to the ADC workshop and test areas. Maintain facility and vehicle cleanliness to "showroom" level. Maintain order and 5S. Recommend improvements of facility and equipment.Operate a variety of work vehicles for testing, demonstration, and facility maintenance. Key vehicles: Forklift (license), aerial work platform (license), skid steer loader, crawler dozer, soil compactor, backhoe loader, lawn mowers.Provide training to others in areas of standard work, safety, test equipment, vehicle and equipment operation, and related administrative processes.Document and communicate information related to above activities.Background and Skills Completed or pursuing AS degree (Fluid Power Technology, Mechanical Technology, Ag Systems Technology, Industrial Technology or similar) or above; applicants with exceptional skill set and work experience will be consideredDemonstrated hands-on mechanical skills such as:repairing and installing mechanical components and systems in work vehicles, including hydraulics, controls, engines, and other vehicle systems. Ability to do basic analysis of mechanical systems, e.g. bearings/tribology, fasteners, machinesExperience using mechanical tools for working metal parts, e.g. cutting, drilling, grinding, assembling. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.Experience laying wiring for control systems. Demonstrates safety consciousness. Hold related welding certificate, or equivalent experience.Valid driver's license, CDL is a plusForklift and aerial work platform license a plusAble to lift 35 lb.Also a plus to have: Experience with the operation and repair of farm and construction equipment Experience with managing/maintaining mechanical assetsExperience with engine diagnostics, PLUS+1 service tool, LabVIEW, Programmable Logic Controllers, or other machine control softwareTraining and/or experience working with high voltage systems a plus, e.g. battery electric vehicles.
