Job Title: Welder Job Description As a Welder, your primary responsibilities will be MIG welding aluminum feed trailers. You'll be tasked with climbing into bins and welding aluminum parts together, standing and welding, and tacking parts of trailers using .035 wire. Additionally, you'll need to read and interpret blueprints to determine what welds to lay, measurements to take, and positions to adhere to. Hard Skills- MIG welding- Blueprint reading- Assembly- Aluminum welding Soft Skills- Interpretation of blueprints- Attention to detail- Ability to work in different shifts Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Work Environment Our manufacturing facility is located on the SW side of Cedar Rapids, IA, where we manufacture a broad range of aluminum feed transportation equipment. The work environment is akin to a general shop, cool in the winters and warm in the summer. Our main three departments include a service department (fixing pre-existing equipment), a welding department (welding the equipment), and a final assembly department (hooking up the last few things to the trailer). The shift timings are as follows: 1st shift x 5 (5am-1:30 pm OR 6am-2:30pm), 2nd shift x8 (2:30PM-11:00 PM), 3rd shift x 3 (9:30PM to 6:00 AM). All candidates will initially train on the 1st shift for the first couple of weeks. The quicker you learn, the quicker you'll move to your assigned shift.
